Lucille A. (Dion) Berube, 89, a longtime resident of Lawence, died peacefully Thursday evening in Academy Manor, Andover. She passed while surrounded in the love of her family.
Lucille, daughter of the late Theodore and Audelaid (Champagne) Dion, was born in Lawrence on July 17, 1923. Her beloved husband, Bertrand Y. Berube, died in 1982. Prior to her retirement, Lucille worked as a clerk for the IRS and later took a position with the office of Dr. Durso and Dr. Reynolds in North Andover.
Her faith was so important to Lucille. She and Bertrand were active communicants of St. Anne’s church and ran its BINGO. She took the opportunity to visit the Shrine of St. Anne De Beaupre and the Shine of St. Joseph in Canada. She and her husband organized an annual holiday party each year, donating proceeds to the Lazarus House. She enjoyed spending Summers at Salisbury Beach, trips to Foxwoods, knitting and making candles with her sisters.
Lucille will be deeply missed by her daughter; Denise A. Skrocki and her husband Paul of Rutland; two sons, Ronald J. Berube and his wife Diane of Lawrence and Michael P. Berube and his wife Sandi of Derry, New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Michelle Berube of Lawrence and Michael and Kristen Skrocki of Rutland; three great-grandchildren, Arianna Berube-Gomez of Lawrence and Sean Patrick McGinnis and Tyler Paul Rotolo, both of Rutland and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille’s life will be celebrated and lovingly remembered in a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 9 AM. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover immediately following the Mass. Friends and family will be warmly received in the KENNETH H. POLLARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Friday, October 19 from 4-8 PM.
