Lawrence B. Bates, 61 of 138 Baldwin St. died June 4, 2004 in his residence. He was born in Youngstown Ohio on October 14, 1942, the son of Arthur W. and Martha Agnes (Thompson) Bates.
He served in the Air Force from 1964-68 as a medic.
Mr. Bates earned a BS degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University and a BS degree in Photographic Arts from the Brooks Institute of Santa Clara Calif.
He was a national retail analyst for Goodwill Industries for twenty years.
Lawrence was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Family members include his wife of 40 years, Jacqueline (Smith) Bates of Laconia; a son, Thomas L. Bates of Meredith; a daughter Julia R. Kopczynski of Post Falls Idaho; five grandchildren; his mother Martha Bates of Cape Coral FL; a sister Sharon Kent of Cape Coral FL. He was pre-deceased by a brother, David Arthur Bates.
A Rosary service was held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Tuesday at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Wednesday at 11:30 AM. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
