Ira Wheelis Clements McDaniel, 79, of Tifton died Friday, October 12, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Tift Avenue Church of God. Rev. Joseph L. Crumley and Rev. Dan McEachin will officiate with burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, in Macon Memorial Park with Rev. Danny Joiner officiating. Robert Clements, Nicholas Clements, Juan Osborn, Jonathon Osborn, Andrew Davis and Ethan King will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2012, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. McDaniel was born on September 25, 1933 in Ocilla and was the daughter of Rev. Hollis D. Wheelis and Iwilda Horton Wheelis, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Enoch Clements; two brothers; and two sisters; and one great-grandson, Robert A. Clements, Jr. She was a homemaker and had also worked in retail sales and for the City of Ty Ty. She was a member Tift Avenue Church of God and was active in the Leroy Rogers Senior Center.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her husband, Eschol G. “Mack” McDaniel of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Jean Clements of Macon; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Barry Davis of Warner Robins; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; three sisters, Agnes Swilley of Valdosta, Grace McBrayer of Tifton and Jeanette Culpepper of Lake Park; five grandchildren, Robert A. Clements, Tina Osborn, Nicholas Clements, Andrew Davis and Ashley Davis; and six great-grandchildren, Jonathon Osborn, Taylor Osborn, Jordyn Osborn, Marissa Clements, Kenneth Lassiter and Tabatha Lassiter.
