New Bedford - Aniela L. (Bielski) Benbenek, 86, of Westport died after a brief illness Sunday, June 06, 2004 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility. She was the wife of Eugene J. Benbenek, Sr.
Mrs. Benbenek was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Stefan and Katarzyna (Lenard) Bielski, and resided most of her life in Westport. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport.
She was employed as a garment worker by various local mills until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the Russells Mills Grange. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading and visiting the Westport Library. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her widower, she is survived by 5 sons: Eugene J. Benbenek, Jr. of Dartmouth, Thomas E. Benbenek of Templeton, MA, Alfred S. Benbenek of Plymouth, MA, Paul L . Benbenek of Halifax, MA and Philip J. Benbenek of Marshfield, MA; a sister: Eugenia Adamowski of Plymouth; 3 brothers: Stephen T. Bielski of Westport, Edward J. Bielski of Marshfield and Armand B. Bielski of Uxbridge, MA; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
She was sister of the late Irene Polchlopek.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
