LEICESTER: Eva T. (Frazier) Doyle, 88, formerly of the Rochdale section of Leicester died Wednesday, Oct. 10 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
Her husband James J. Doyle died in 1973. She leaves a son Michael E. Doyle and his wife Lou-Ann of North Grafton, three grandchildren James M. Doyle of Brattleboro, VT, Michael T. Doyle and his wife Mary Elizabeth of Grafton and Kelly Holt and her husband Daniel of Richmond, VA, four great-grandchildren Michael & Emmett Doyle and Kayla & Amber Holt and three life long friends Sister Mary Edward & Betty Wasgatt both of Worcester and Mary Deming of Danbury, CT.
Mrs. Doyle was born in Leicester, daughter of James and Eva L. (LaPlante) Frazier. She graduated from Worcester University with a BA in teaching. She taught school in Auburn just after graduating and then continued her career in teaching Special Education in the Leicester School System for 28 years until her retirement in 1980. After retiring she moved to her second home in Brattleboro, Vermont until moving back to Massachusetts in 2008 to be closer to her son. While living in Vermont she did gardening and sold her flowers. She also had a Craft Store in her garage; all crafts she sold were hand made by her. She was a member of the VFW and Post 5 American Legion ladies auxiliaries in Brattleboro, VT. .. She was a member of the MTA and NEA retired. She was a former member of St. Aloysius St. Jude Church in Leicester.
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, October 17 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. A private burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Boy’s Town, National Headquarters, 200 Flanagan Blvd., P.O. Box 8000, and Boy’s Town, NE 68010.
