John S. Confalone, age 86, died October 8, 2012 at the Winchester Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Wakefield, John was the devoted son of the late Mary (Companeschi) & Chester Confalone.
John was born and raised in Wakefield, but has been a Woburn resident for the last 51 years. He was a stone mason and builder and stayed active with many different projects up until his death. He loved to garden, go fishing, and was a very artistic whittler. He loved his family and also enjoyed spending time with his many friends. May 8, 2012, John and his beloved wife Jean celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
John was a US Navy veteran of World War II. Proudly serving from April, 1944 to May 1946.
In addition to his beloved wife Jean A. (DeMonico) Confalone, John was the devoted father of John Confalone Jr. and his wife Maureen of Tewksbury, Jill Decker of VT, George White Jr. and his wife Susan of Lawrence, Bonnie Toth and her husband Myron of Wakefield. Also survived by 9 loving grandchildren and 7 loving great grandchildren. Brother of Chester Confalone, and his wife Martha of Wakefield, Mary Giglio of Wakefield, her late husband George Giglio, the late Samuel Confalone and Joseph Confalone. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. WOBURN, Friday 4 thru 8. A funeral service will be held at 7 PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Committal service will be private.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in John's name to Bedford VA Hospital, 200 Springs Rd. Bedford, MA 01730.
