MULROY, Anne E. Of Belmont formerly of Wellesley, passed away on October 8, 2012. She was 82. She was the widow of Dr. Richard D. Mulroy, to whom she was married for 40 years. Devoted to her family, she leaves five sons and daughters in law, Richard and Kathleen, John and Denise, James and Ellie, William and Tanya, Robert and Jean, a daughter and son-in law, Anne and John DiGiovanni. She leaves 15 beloved grandchildren, Julianna, Patrick, Richard, Elizabeth, John, Brendan, James, Kathryn, Desmond, Eavan, Callin, Mary, Robert, Marie and Julia. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mulroy, a gifted pianist, was a cum laude graduate of Manhattanville College, did her graduate work in Musicology at NYU and taught music in New York City public school system before her marriage. She dedicated herself to family and volunteer work over her lifetime, serving in many capacities within school and parish communities, including St. Joseph, Needham, St. Paul, Wellesley, St. Sebastian’s School and Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart. She was a lector and Eucharistic minister in several parishes up until 2011. She was awarded the highest adult leadership honor by the Boy Scouts of America for distinguished service, and served as the President of the Guild of St. Irene, a Trustee at St. Sebastian’s School, President of the Children of Mary, President of the Waltham-Weston Investment Club and was a Lady of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Friday, October 12 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday, October 11 from 4-8 PM. Interment Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
