WEST SPRINGFIELD - Agnes M. Doody, 86, of West Springfield and a former longtime resident of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was born in West Springfield on June 3, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank R. and Margaret T. (Sullivan) Doody. She was raised and schooled in West Springfield and moved to Springfield in the mid 1950's where she lived until returning to West Springfield in 2004. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Doris (Doody) Corjay. She leaves a sister, Hazel M. (Doody) Gamelli of West Springfield; and four nieces, Margaret (Corjay) Hickey, Marie (Gamelli) Bond, Joan (Gamelli) Marino and Nancy (Gamelli) Thomason. A private funeral will be held at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her burial will follow the service at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
