Ann W. Smith, 66, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Friday, June 4, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 7, 2004, at Prospect Baptist Church, Ben Hill County, with Rev. Harris Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born July 27, 1937, in Cook County, Georgia to the late Herbert and Bertie Pruitt Weeks. She had lived in Ben Hill County since 1973 from Atlanta. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a former employee of Southern Bell Telephone in Atlanta. She was a 1955 graduate of Coffee County High School, a member of Prospect Baptist Church, and a former member of Defore Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. Mrs. Smith also sang with the Gospel Servants.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband: Roscoe C. Smith of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law: David and Brenda Smith of Douglas; four grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and one sister: Bertha Hancock of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Lamar Weeks.
