Obituary

Methuen, Ma – Eva Rose (Gagnon) Suzedelys, 95, died Wednesday at her home at Methuen Village, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. She was the wife of the late John P. Suzedelys. She was born in Hudson, NH, the daughter of Louis P. and Lydia (Boulanger) Gagnon. She was a communicant of St. Monica’s Church in Methuen.

Eva Rose was educated in the Hudson, NH school system. During World War II, she served as a Sergeant in the Women’s Army Corps, managing a photography lab at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. After her marriage in 1948, she cared for her home and family, while also working as a stitcher in the garment industry in the Lawrence mills until her retirement in 1974. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing and taking photographs. She was also an accomplished artist who created many beautiful landscape paintings.

Eva Rose is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia L. Coughlan of Bradford and Julie A. Sidon of Gloucester and Heath, MA, and their spouses William J. Coughlan and Craig S. Gerry; her two grandsons, Michael Coughlan and his wife Lynn of Groton and Ryan Coughlan and his fiancé LaMont Barlow of New York, NY; a sister, Rita Toussaint, and a brother, Henry Gagnon, both of Nashua, NH; and two great-grandchildren, James and Danielle Rose Coughlan of Groton. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jeanette DuVarney and Lorette Duquette and two brothers, Leo Gagnon and Maurice Gagnon.

Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Eva’s life by gathering for visiting hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Friday, October 5th from 4-7 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
