PIERCE- Of Chelsea, June 3rd, Phillip A. Devoted father of Mark Pierce of Everett and Michael Pierce of Malden. Beloved son of Vera (Washington) Pierce of Chelsea and the late Alfred Pierce. Dear and loving brother of Alfred R. Pierce of Chicago, Illinois, Dolores MacDougall and Katherine Knight both of Chelsea and the late Emma Caine and Marion Connor. Also lovingly survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Sunday evening, June 6th at 7 PM with the Rev. Viola Morris-Buchanan and Sheryl Mann, officiating. Visiting Hours prior to the Funeral Service from 4-7 PM. Committal Services private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Phillip's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Born in Chelsea and a lifelong resident, Phillp, 68 year of age, passed away late Thursday evening at the Woodlawn Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Everett after a short illness. A machinist and welder by trade, he retired in 2002 after over 35 years of service at the General Electric-River Works Jet Engine Division in Lynn.
