Obituary

Worcester, MA - John Q. Braney, 77, passed away at Saint Vincent Hospital on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Carole A. (Wentzell) Braney; son, John Q. Braney, Jr., of Worcester; daughter, Sandra A. Terry and her husband David S. Terry of Groveland; brother-in-law, Steve Wentzell of Sterling; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers George and Richard Braney as well as his beloved pet beagle, Lucy.

John was born in Millbury, son of the late Marion Dove (McGill) and George F. Braney. He was a graduate of Worcester Junior College and served in the National Guard. John was a mechanical engineer and retired from Weiler Corporation. He was a member of the American Philatelic Society, Oxford Stamp Club, and Fitchburg Stamp Club. John enjoyed traveling to Camden and Ogunquit, Maine and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, at Greendale People's Church, 25 Francis Street. A calling hour will be held at the church at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Inc., One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
