Obituary

CHICOPEE – Michael J. “Mikie” Conner, 24, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, passed away as a result of a tragic accident on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by his loving family and his close friends. Michael loved attending school in Chicopee and meeting up with his many friends at Sunshine Village. Mikie enjoyed being home with his family, bowling and going to baseball games with his dad. He also enjoyed going to the farm and shopping with his mom and his big sister, Sara. He loved boating with his mom, dad, sister, Sara, and brother, Chris. He was active in Special Olympics, loved to dance, playing with his power rangers and wrestlers and watching his favorite video tapes. He always enjoyed helping around the house and helping his mom at the grocery store. Michael will be sadly missed by his family including his devoted parents, Richard F. and Joy K. (McGale) Conner; his loving sister, Sara Stodulski and his brother, Chris Stodulski; his cherished niece, Makayla Stodulski; his grandmother, Joann Gauthier, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield; uncle Dave McGale and aunt Kathy, uncle Mike McGale and aunt, Pat, aunt Sandie Shade and uncle, Bryan, uncle Danny and aunt Denise Conner, aunt Peggy and Dave Kmelius, aunt Rita Davitt, aunt Cathy and uncle Jake Gehlhausen; and many dear cousins. Michael's family would like to thank all our loving family and friends especially the Chicopee Police and Fire Departments for their efforts. They would also like to thank the Holyoke Police Department for all their support as well as the Doctors and Nurses at Baystate Medical Center. His family is most grateful to Jason at the Life Choice Donor Services. If it was not for them, Michael's organs would not be living in four lucky recipients. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, October 5, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.) followed by a Prayer Service in the funeral home at 10 a.m. His burial will follow the service at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Fuller Road, Chicopee Falls, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 4, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. His family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts, 898 Prospect Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 or to Sunshine Village, 75 Litwin Lane, Chicopee, MA 01020.
