Anthony R. "Tony" Del Pozzo, 85, of Sarasota, Florida formerly of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Saturday, September 15th, 2012.
Tony was born on November 17th, 1926 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to the late Noe Del Pozzo and Bettina (DeFusco) Del Pozzo, his parents had come over from Italy. Tony was the youngest of four, his brothers Jimmy, Al, and Sister Rose. Tony attended Lawrence High School.
Since Tony was a young boy and for years he worked at the family grocery store which his parents had started shortly after coming to this country. After selling the store Tony retired but not for long, he came out of retirement and managed the coffee shop at City Hall in Lawrence for the Massachusetts Division for the Blind.
He loved to talk politics and had many political friends. Due to his vision impairment he would stay abreast of current affairs by always watching only the news. Additionally, the only other reason to watch TV was to see the Yankees play. He was a devoted fan and never missed a game. Tony was quite a dancer and loved to eat. He was very social and everyone liked him, always joking and pleasant they would refer to him as "Tony Bologna". Tony was a member and past president of the Lions and Sons of Italy. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Family and his heritage were very important to him. Tony was a devoted catholic and attended mass when he could. He enjoyed his time spent in Sarasota, Florida. Tony loved time spent with his family and he loved animals especially dogs.

His five grandchildren Kathleen, Patrick, Frederick, Anthony, Jr. and Andrea, as well as one great grandson Daunte.
His brother Alfred R. Del Pozzo and his wife Yvonne M. Del Pozzo of Methuen, MA. As well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Rose DiBenedetto and his brother James Del Pozzo.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, MA.
