Charles F. Dunham
WALTHAM - Charles F. "Pat" Dunham, 76, of Waltham, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Sawtelle Family Hospice in Reading.
He was the husband of Doris M. (Aucoin) Dunham for 53 years.
Born in Watertown, he was a lifelong Waltham resident, attended Waltham public schools, and was a graduate of Waltham Trade School.
Following his graduation, Mr. Dunham was employed as a machinist at Electro Products Corp. in Waltham.
He served in the U.S. Army for three years after enlisting in 1950, and was discharged in December 1953 as a corporal, attached to HQ company, 1st BN, 325th Air at Fort Benning, Ga.
He was appointed to the Waltham Police Department in 1958, served until 1962, and was appointed to the Waltham Fire Department in 1966 where he served for 19 years until retiring on disability Oct. 5, 1985.
He was a member of the Waltham Lodge of Elks and Waltham Firefighters Union.
Besides his wife, he leaves seven children and their spouses, Elaine M. and Richard Waldo of Keene, N.H., Patricia A. Meyer of Swampscott, Michael F. Dunham of Woburn, M/Sgt. John J. Dunham USAF and Mila, of England, Paul E. Dunham of Cambridge, David C. and Erin Dunham of Stoneham, and Dennis P. and Kimberly Dunham of Hudson; and his grandchildren, Kristen Skulte and her husband, Andris, and Steven, Matthew, Sean, Timothy and Nathan Dunham.
A funeral Mass will held Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 9 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Waltham.
Burial will follow in the Dunham family lot in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
Visiting hours Mon 3 to 8 p.m., at The Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham.
