Allene Purvis Mobley, 83, of Early County, formerly of Irwin County, died Friday, September 28, 2012, at Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 PM Sunday, September 30, at Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Irwin County, with Elder Paul Thomas and Elder Mickey Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:30 until the funeral hour.
Mrs. Mobley was born July 1, 1929 in Irwin County to the late Pearley “Bud” and Bertha Tucker Purvis. She was a farm wife and homemaker who enjoyed the Senior Citizen Center and Future Homemaker of America. She was a former member of the Irwin County Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Mobley was a member of Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She moved from Irwin County in 1999 to be near her daughter.
Survivors include children: Shirley Ann & Ken Price of Damascus, Charles & Susan Mobley and Wayne and Judy Mobley, all of Byron; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and brother, Ed Purvis of Ocilla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Mobley, daughter, Linda Nell Jacobs, brother, Bobby Purvis and sister Margie Mobley.
