Mrs. Rose T. Swanson, age 94, a lifelong Medford resident died Thursday at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is the wife of the late Arthur L. Swanson. Born in Medford, daughter of the late Nicholas and Antoinetta Sarno she is a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1936.
In earlier years she enjoyed bowling and watching professional wrestling. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She loved to bake and also was known for her unique decorations on pine cones. She was quite good at reupholstering. She was an animal lover and during her life had several cats, all named Dusty! She is survived by two daughters: Carole A. Swanson of Malden and Linda J. Swanson of Somerville, a son Arthur R. Swanson and his wife Rosemary of Medford. Loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Friends may call Sunday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Monday at 11:00 am.Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
