Grace (Bannon) Sutherland, 87, died Sept. 28, 2012, at Mystic Healthcare.
She was born July 6, 1925, to Walter and Eloise (Davis) Bannon in Hartford. Grace was a resident of Mystic and Noank and attended Union Baptist Church in Mystic. She served as youth sponsor for several years in the 1970s at Union Baptist Church. In recent years, Grace was a resident of Mystic River Homes in Noank and Bayview Healthcare in Waterford.
Grace was predeceased by her husband, Jack W. Sutherland and her son, John.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Sutherland of Mystic; daughter-in-law, Linda Sutherland of East Lyme; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Flanders Baptist and Community Church in East Lyme. There are no calling hours.
