Beverly (Moody) Coan passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2012 at South Shore Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Charles & Gladys Moody and Wife of the Late Richard Coan. Beverly was born July 15, 1926 in Niagara Falls, New York. Beverly graduated from La Jolla High School in 1943 in San Diego, California. In June 1947 Beverly achieved her Nursing Degree from the State of California and an Associates Degree in Arts from Allan Hancock College in 1976. Her major was Health Sciences. She later received a B.S. from Chapman College in Orange County in 1982. Beverly was a member of the United States Air Force and was awarded a Commendation Medal for Outstanding Achievement on July 12, 1964 as a First Lieutenant in the USAF. She was also a USAF Medic. In 1968 Beverly became accredited as a Captain in the USAF. In 1985 she became a Red Cross Nurse. On November 3, 1965 Beverly married the late Richard Coan. Although the couple was well traveled they made their home back here in Marshfield, Ma. Beverly was an active member of the community in Marshfield and loved by many. She was involved with the Marshfield COA, Senior Center and Boosters. Beverly was also a Red Hat Lady. She was a lifetime member at the Marshfield Yacht Club. Beverly was always active and involved with several activities at Proprietors Green Village where she recently moved to and met many new friends. Beverly was a great friend and loved one. She was a strong woman with a heart of gold and was always there for others in their time of need. She will be sadly missed. Beverly is survived by her Family and many beloved friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139, Marshfield on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 2 to 5 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 p.m.
