Adelaide (Loftin) Stowell, 88, of New Bedford died September 27, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late George G. Stowell.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Frank and Susan R. (Atkinson) Loftin, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Stowell was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was formerly employed by the Newport Naval Station in Newport and Thomas Frencheson Company and Louis Hand Company in Fall River.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail A. Caine of New Bedford and Sharon L. Kennedy of Fairhaven; a brother, James F. Loftin of Warwick, RI; two sisters, Beverly Bisson of Hooksett, NH and Janice Sanchez of Swansea; two grandchildren, Christopher M. Caine and Jennifer (Caine) Blatchford; four great-grandchildren, Karalynn, Lucas, Hailey and Alex Blatchford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Muriel Floyd.
Her Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd at 1 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Her family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 1 PM, prior to the Service.
