Obituary

Vasilikie E. “Betty” (Kollios) Drapos, 88, of Worcester, died Tuesday, September 25th at home with her family by her side. Her husband of 54 years, James E. Drapos died in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Theodora Drapos, with whom she lived; three brothers, Sofoclis Kollios and his wife, Beverly of Southbridge, Charles Kollios and his wife, Dorothy of Yarmouth, and Achilleas Kollios of Arlington, VA; three god-children, many nephews and nieces. Betty also leaves her sisters-in-law, Helen Rougas of Paxton, Athena Tsoules of Worcester, Marilyn Drapos and her husband, Arthur of Naples and Aphrodite Drapos of Worcester. She was predeceased by her brother, Elias Kollios and her sister Evadokia Dani.

She was born in Southbridge, the daughter of Evangelos and Kalliope (Zissis) Kollios. Mrs. Drapos was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, its Seniors Club, the Ladies Philoptochos and the Daughters of Penelope. Betty enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, dancing and baking; and especially time spent with family and friends.

Her funeral is Friday, September 28th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, September 27th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
