
Hanson - Dorothy F. (Kielty) Pike 80, died Saturday September 22 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of Donald Pike.
Born and raised in Dorchester she was the daughter of the late John F. and Anna (Conolly) Kielty.
Dorothy was an avid Bingo player and loved her “bingo friends”. She enjoyed gardening and grocery shopping but her greatest joy came from the time spent with her beloved husband Don and her children. She had especially enjoyed the many Saturday night cards games she had with her large family.
In addition to her husband Don she is survived by her loving children Frank Nelson of Nashua, NH, James Nelson and Lou Nunely of Virginia, Terri McKay and her husband Gary of Upton, Carol Dever and her husband Tom of Pembroke, Donald Pike of Ayer, and Greg Pike and Michelle of Rockland, her stepdaughter Lauren Rice, her brother John Kielty of Ocala, FL and her sister Donna Kielty of Dorchester. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Duffy, her brothers Donald and Richard Kielty and her grandson Shawn McKay.
Her services will be held Thursday September 27 at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Hanson. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday September 26 from 4-7 PM.
