Fall River… Valerie “Viola” M. (Niewola) Butler of Fall River passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Julianna (Los) Niewola and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Butler was a member of the Saint Stanislaus Holy Rosary Sodality and former member of the Mary Konopnicka Society at the former Polish Home. She enjoyed word searches, watching soap operas and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters: Valerie A. Butler and Teresa M. Butler, both of Fall River, a son: Denis S. Butler of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Mark Butler, and sister of the late John Niewola, Anna Heffernan, Jennie Kotlarski and William Niewola.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 9 AM from the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Saint Stanislaus Church, Rockland St. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Butlers name may be made to Saint Stanislaus School Endowment Fund, 37 Rockland St. Fall River. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours.
