Anthony Catanzaro, 96, of Cooper Road, Chepachet, a retired Cartographer for Army Map Service, died Friday at Bayberry Commons. He was the widow of Anna C. (Restivo) Catanzaro.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Bartolo J. and Rose (Sansone) Catanzaro. He had previously lived in Johnston for 55 years. He was a Major in the US Army serving in the 21st Infantry during WWII.
He is survived by his children: Betty Callahan of Chepachet, Robert Catanzaro of Bluffton, SC, Anthony Catanzaro of Cedar Park, TX, his grandchildren: Keith and Julie Catanzaro, Gina Fothergill and Michael Callahan, his four great grandchildren and a sister: Ida Seddon of Providence. He was the father of the late Raymond Catanzaro and brother of the late Philip, Cosmo and Bartholomew and Conchetta Sherman.
Funeral Monday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville.
