Virginia M. Macomber, 90, of Windham, NH, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Warde Health Center, Windham, NH. She was born on March 21, 1922 in Stoneham, MA, a daughter of the late Sumner and Ina May (Wooster) Coffin.
She is survived by her four children, Bruce Macomber and his wife Li-Hsin Wu of Billerica, MA, James Macomber and his wife Julie Moffatt of Canton, MA, Lance Macomber and his wife Patricia of Plaistow, NH, and Laura Walz and her husband Philip of Akron, OH, seven grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Megan, Sara, Lynnette, Peter and Allison, one great-granddaughter, Olivia, her sister, Emily Rumrill of Sturbridge, MA, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving “Bud” E. Macomber in 2000 and by one son, Gregg Macomber in 2008.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Sunday September 30, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. Friends gathered prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Rd., Windham, NH 03087.
