LEICESTER-Stanley P. and Mary A. (Hanley) Balukonis husband and wife of 59 years, died Sunday, May 30th. They leave 3 daughters, Marilyn F. Willand of Worcester, Catherine Lessard of West Brookfield and Mary Beth Harris of New Hampshire, 4 grandchildren Kara Lessard of Connecticut, Christine Willand of Washington, DC, Peter Lessard of West Brookfield and Patrick Harris of New Hampshire. Mr. Balukonis leaves 2 nephews and a niece, Mrs. Balukonis leaves a nephew and niece. Mr. and Mrs. Balukonis were both predeceased by a brother and sister.
Mr. Balukonis was born in Worcester the son of Stanley and Mary (Burneiciute) Balukonis and was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a machinist for many years at the former George Meyer Company until he retired. Mrs. Balukonis was born in Lowell the daughter of William and Mary (Shannon) Hanley and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Lowell.
The funeral Mass is Thursday, June 3rd at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. There are no calling hours.
