In Taunton, September 18, 2012 Jacqueline A. “Jackie” (Cummings) Booth, age 80 passed away peacefully in Longmeadow Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of Robert A. “Bob” Booth, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her son Peter Booth and his wife Karen of Harwich, and grandchildren Reid, Paige and Tyne Booth, all of Harwich; her brother Robert Cummings and his wife Betty, formerly of Dighton and Canaan, NH, her sister-in-law Dorothy Pilling of Assonet and Helen Booth of Taunton along with many nieces and nephews. Jackie was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Wilford “Pete” Cummings and Jennie (Gonia) Cummings. She attended Taunton and Dighton schools. Jackie graduated from Bridgewater State Teachers College and taught locally in the Dighton, Mansfield and Norton school systems. While traveling with Bob when he was employed by Johns Hopkins and MIT’s Draper Laboratories, she taught in Maryland and Wisconsin. Jackie enjoyed creative activities such as oil painting, painting wood carvings made by Bob, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed home decorating and was always proud to give tours of her lovely homes in Norton and later in North Dighton. After retirement, Jackie and Bob enjoyed summers on Cape Cod at their homes in Brewster and later in Harwich. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sat., Sept., 22nd from 9-10:30am. at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. A graveside service will be held at Westville Cemetery in Taunton on Sat, at 11am.
