PEABODY - Carrie E. (Mansell) McIntire, 88, of Peabody, wife of the late Richard McIntire, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at her residence following a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith (Carlton) Mansell.
Prior to her retirement in 1999, Carrie was employed at the former Ann & Hope store in Danvers.
A resident of Peabody since 1975, she was a member of the Peabody Council on Aging.
Mrs. McIntire is survived by one daughter, Helen Stone of Peabody, three sons, Richard McIntire II of East Boston, Michael McIntyre of Peabody, Patrick McIntire of Kingston, NH, 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Ben-Charles McIntire, two daughters, Melissa L. McIntire, Kathleen Cooke and four brothers, Charles, George, William and Benjamin Mansell.
A committal service will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the family lot in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
