Amersa "Mary" (Asimakis) Dermatis, 78, of Worcester, died Saturday, September 15th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Nikolaos D. Dermatis; her son, Demetrios Dermatis and his wife, Yvette of Worcester; two daughters, Anastasia Patinoitis and her husband, Peter of Rhodes, Greece and Angela Arsenis and her husband, Ilias of North Kingstown, RI; a brother Sotiris Asimakis of Athens, Greece; and a sister, Soula Gianarakis and her husband, John of Athens, Greece; seven grandchildren, Andreana and Amersaline Dermatis, Mersini and Panagiotis Patiniotis, and Savvina, Ilianna and Alexandros Arsenis; and many nephews and nieces.
She was born in Athens, Greece the daughter of Dimitrios and Angeliki (Kokkorinos) Asimakis. She had worked from 1973 until 1998 in the family owned business Andrea’s Ristorante. Mrs. Dermatis was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral; and enjoyed sewing. Mrs. Dermatis will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and to Holy Trinity Hospice for their support and care provided to Amersa over the past years.
Her funeral is Tuesday, September 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at Noon in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are the day of the funeral from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
