Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Lois R. (Feener) Chick, 97, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Prescott E. Chick who died in July 2007.
Born in Gloucester on April 17, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Seddie M. (LeSueur) Feener. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and had attended Gloucester public schools.
Lois was employed at LePages in Gloucester for several years before retiring in 1940. Along with her husband, Prescott, they loved to go for Sunday afternoon rides and dining out. She also loved taking the joy of her life, granddaughter Heather on shopping excursions. Lois enjoyed cooking, knitting and sewing with her two best friends, Ellen Wilson and Anna Chick. She was also a member of the Orthodox Congregational Church of Lanesville. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis P. and Dennis V. Whaley, beloved granddaughter, Heather L. Whaley all of Gloucester; a sister, Marion Tingley of Beverly; a brother, Gene Feener and his wife, Muriel of Essex; four sisters-in-law, Marilyn Sears, Gertrude Chick, Pauline Bortle and her husband, Donald and Agnes Cameron and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Phillip Feener and his wife, Louise and Roy Feener and his wife, Annie, two sisters, June Callahan and her husband, Henry and Phyllis Burnham and her husband, Warren, three brothers-in-law, James Tingley, Lester Chick and Frank Chick and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Connelly.
Her funeral services will be held on Monday in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Lanesville at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the “Friends of Seacoast” c/o Seacoast Nursing & Rehab. Center, 292 Washington St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
