Charles Marshall Smith

Charles Marshall Smith age 78, of Middletown died September 13, 2012 at Community Hospital after a year long illness.
Charles was born October 15, 1933 near Savage, Kentucky to Casher Alexander and Ollie Mabel (Frogge) Smith.
He served in the Air Force 4 years.
He was a tool engineer at Delco Remy over 30 years before retiring in 1986.
He attended Christian Church in Mt. Summit during his childhood.
He was a member of the Chesterfield American Legion and the Daleville Masonic Lodge.
His hobby was working in his yard, which he enjoyed. He loved his grandchildren and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Smith) Smith of Middletown whom he married August 13, 1971; his 4 sons Mitchell (Mary Jane) Smith of Amesbury, MA; Marcus (Miriam) Smith of Columbus, IN; Matthew Smith of Seabrook, NH; Montgomery (Malisa) Smith of Seabrook, NH; 2 step-daughters Diann (Rich) Herzog of Anderson and Linda (Mike) Abney of Pendleton, IN; 7 sisters, Florence Swann; Flora McCormick; Fannie Beall; Irene Rehbein; Mary (Norman) Shaw; Shirley (Joe) Owen and Ruth (Darryl) Burd; 1 brother, James Robert (Judy) Smith; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson Robert McFarland.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Edward Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Summit Cemetery.
The visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
