Obituary

Rosemary E. Malvone, age 63, of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly following a yearlong battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Leonard A. Malvone and together they shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Malden she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (DeCristoforo) Salerno.

Rosemary was raised and educated in Medford and was a 1967 graduate of Medford High School. Following high school Rosemary attended the Youville School of Practical Nursing and upon completion of her studies she began her career as a licensed practicing nurse and worked at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford for more than 17 years. Rosemary was always active and involved in different community affairs and served the people of Medford as the past chairperson of the Medford Consumer Commission. Throughout her life Rosemary's faith was a source of great strength and comfort for her. For many years she was a religious education teacher with the Boston Archdiocese and was very active with the nursing ministry for the Abundant Life Christian Center of Wilmington. Rosemary was also a member of the Wilmington Sons of Italy Lodge 2138, where she fostered many wonderful friendships that she truly cherished.
However, Rosemary's greatest joy came from her family. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them and especially cherished her time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Rosemary is survived by her beloved husband, Leonard A. Malvone. She was the devoted mother of Paul Malvone and his wife Tricia of Wilmington and was the loving nana of Ella and Joey Malvone.
