David C. Morrill, age 72, of Salem, died at Salem Hospital Sept. 10 after a brief illness.
Born in Lynn, he was a lifelong resident, moving to Salem six months ago. He was the son of the late Frank and Leah (Cormier) Morrill, and the loving husband of Susan J. (Leawood) Morrill, with whom he shared 14 years of marriage. He graduated from St. Jean's High School, and was an assembler in the Aircraft Division of the General Electric Company for 32 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, serving in Germany. David was a member of the Fox Hill Yacht Club of Saugus, Royal Order of Elks of Saugus, William P. Connery, Post 6 and the Franco American Veterans Post 12.
Beside his wife, he is survived by two sons, David M. and his wife Rhonda Morrill of Lynn, Daniel F. and his wife Lisa Morrill of Salem; one daughter, Dina M. and her husband Michael Mantsourani of Lynn; and one stepdaughter, Lisa Hall of Lynn. Loving grandfather of Kyle and Kayla Morrill and Aria Mantsourani and step-grandchildren Kayla, Nadia, Devyn and Jo-Jo. Also several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Frank L. Morrill of Salem, Chester "Buddy" and his wife Pat Morrill of Danvers, Mary E. Klise of Winter Garden, Fla., Josephine L. Barrett of Titusville, Fla. and Gloria J. and her husband Gary Thompson of Ponte Verde Beach, Fla. He was the brother of the late Alan J. and Paul E. Morrill.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services in the NADWORNY Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave., Lynn on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by cremation in Harmony Grove Crematory. Burial will be private in the Vietnam Lot in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.
