Methuen, Ma – Lucille “Lu” (Lemieux) Moynihan 68, died Friday night at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lawrence the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Bourassa) Lemieux.
Lucille was an active Communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Methuen.
For many years she was a Realtor employed by Royal Realty of Methuen, and also for Western Electric of North Andover. Lu was a volunteer at Holy Family Hospital. The highlight of her life was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending quality time with family and friends.
Lucille was considered to be the consummate grandmother.
Lu was the widow of Methuen Police Capt. Russell B. Moynihan.
Survivors include two son’s; Shaun R. and his wife Sallie Moynihan and their three children of Merrimac, Ma. and son Michael R. and his wife Tracy Moynihan and their children Jamie M. and Jason R. Moynihan of Methuen as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock at Our Lady of Good Counsel/Saint Theresa Church 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Tuesday from 4 PM - 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
