Obituary

TOLBERT WILLIAM McGAHA, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012.



Tolbert is a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the 1949 Champion Fast Pitch Softball Team. He retired from International Harvester after a 36 year career where he was a tooling engineer and supervisor. He was an avid bowler for 60 years and league secretary for many of those. His passion for sports continued at Beechmont Little League where he served as a coach in the 60’s and also was the secretary/treasurer for the Association.



Tolbert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Zelma Masden McGaha; children, Mark McGaha (Judy), Ruth Jarrell (Robb), and Stephen McGaha (Cecelia); 5 grandchildren, Paul Jarrell, Kristi Waters, Daniel McGaha, Alicia Skidmore and Melissa Hicks; and seven great grandchildren. Tolbert is also survived by four siblings, Rodger McGaha, John McGaha, Myra Casey, and Tommy McGaha.



Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Kenwood Heights Christian Church, 5610 New Cut Road with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.



Visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at his church.
