Louise Elizabeth “Betty” Pryor, 84, of Athens, Georgia, died Friday, September 7, 2012, at the Athens Heritage Home in Athens, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2012, at St. James United Methodist Church in Athens, Georgia with The Rev. Bill Curington officiating. Graveside services were held at 1 P.M., Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Miss Pryor was born August 29,1928 in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late James Jarratt Pryor and Catherine Clark Wilcox Pryor. She was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School and she attended the University of Georgia in Athens. She grew up attending Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald and she worked as a nurse's aid. She had lived in Athens for the past twenty years where she was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: Gerald W. “Jerry” and Jackie Pryor of Fitzgerald; one sister: Anna May Cobb of Athens as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Dr. James J. Pryor, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Rita Pryor and Jeannie Pryor and brother-in-law: Henry Cobb, Jr.
