METHUEN - Richard A. Lojek, 53, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury and Wilmington, diedunexpectedly Thursday morning, May 27, at the Lawrence General Hospital, after suffering anapparent heart attack at his home. He was the husband of Karen M. (Feeney) Lojek. They weremarried last Sept. 14th.
He was born in Lowell, Jan. 4, 1951, a son of the late Stanley G. and Frances (Sowienski) Lojek. He was raised in Tewksbury, and had graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with theclass of 1969. He had lived in Tewksbury and Wilmington the greater part of his life, and movedto new home in Methuen one month ago.
Upon graduation from High School, he served in the U.S. Army, as a member of the 82nd Divisionof the Airborne Rangers during the Vietnam war, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8164 inTewksbury.
He had been employed as a senior manufacturing engineer by the Lightolier / Genlyte Companyfor more than 30 years.
He was a communicant of St. William’s Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Erica and her husbandTimothy Hersom of Derry, NH, Nicole and her husband Robert Curran of Hampstead, NH,Megan Lojek of Westford; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles J. and his wife Sally(MacLean) Lojek of Wilmington, Kenneth B. Lojek of Lowell; a sister and brother-in-law,Kathleen and David Jenoski of Lowell; a grandson, Aidan Curran; his father in law, Robert J. andhis wife Jacqueline (Shell) Feeney of Nashua, NH; his mother-in-law, Antonetta (D’Errico)Feeney of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Stanley G. Lojek Jr.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, June 1, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment with Army Honors was atTewksbury Cemetery.
