Ronald Cook Hill

Ronald Cook Hill, 62, Noblesville, formerly of Anderson died unexpectedly from a heart attack on January 11, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
He was born July 11, 1948 in Terre Haute. He lived most of his life in Anderson until July 2010 when he and his wife moved to Noblesville to be closer to their family.
Ron was a 1967 graduate of Madison Heights High School. He was a proud United States Marine who served his country form 1968 -70. He received an honorable discharge and was awarded a Purple Heart for his combat service in Vietnam.
Ron was a member of the VFW, AMVETS and the Marine Corps League, where he was active in Toys for Tots. He was also a member of the Madison County Historical Society, Knights of Columbus and the Harley Owners Group (HOG).
Ron retired from General Motors in 2001 after 34 years. While a Veterans Rep for the UAW, he attended various trainings at Indiana University and Ball State for extensive study of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He was instrumental in starting several grass roots Veterans organizations.
Ron had worked part time at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service since 2001. He was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church.
Ron enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, woodworking, watching history shows and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 27 years, Jacki (Burrows) Hill, son Dustin (Roslynn) Dixon of Noblesville, daughters Brande Dixon (Karl) Kollmeyer of Fishers and Nina Baker of Daleville. Also surviving is grandson, Jaxon Dixon and granddaughter Brittany Baker of Daleville. He also cherished his two special Shih-Tzu girls, Coco and Brynlee.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Roy and Mabel Hill, mother-in-law Madonna Burrows in 1994 and father-in-law Jack Burrows in 2001.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church with Revs. Edward Dhondt and Robert Williams officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 16 from 2-6 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park with Military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Saint Ambrose Catholic Church or the Marine Corps League and the family asks for people to bring a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots.
