Obituary

Isabel Carmen (Cravinho) Benea, of Kingston, died on September 5th at Golden Living in Plymouth surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91. The beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Benea, she was born in Plymouth and lovingly raised by Stella and Jesse Vincent. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1938 and moved to Kingston in 1947. She had worked as an office worker at Cordage Park then graduated as a Nursing Assistant from Jordan Hospital before becoming the office manager and bookkeeper for Benea Block which she owned with her husband.

Isabel is survived by her loving daughters Mary O’Brien and her husband Bill of Kingston, Virginia Benea of Plymouth and Susan Benea of Kingston and her sister Alba Pinnetti of Plymouth. She also leaves her 6 cherished grandchildren: Nicole Miller of Plymouth, Billy, Joey and Marlene O’Brien of Kingston and Philip and Peter Salvuccia of Plymouth and her 7 great grandchildren: Sara, Ashley, Olyvia, Ryan, Gianna, Matthew and Charlotte. Daughter of the late Mary Travers, sister of the late Joseph Cravinho, Lillian Marques, Mary Jesse, Phyllis Furtado and Beatrice Pagliuca. Grandmother of the late Michele DiMaria.

A member and past treasurer of St. Mary’s Guild, she also belonged to the Halifax Country Club, Emblem Club of the Elks and she enjoyed golf, snowmobiling, dancing, was an avid scrabble and boggle player and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt3A), N. Plymouth on Sunday, September 9th from 3 to 7 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 10th at St. Mary’s Church at 9 AM followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Plymouth. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court St, Plymouth, MA 02360.
