Obituary

Carol A. (Marsden) Chaput, 72Worcester, Carol A. (Marsden) Chaput, 72, of 15 Esper Avenue, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of many years, Arthur J. Chaput, died in 1994. She leaves a son, Harlan J. Chaput of Worcester, 2 daughters, Diane J. Chaput Carroll of Reading and Lynn A. Chaput Parretti of Leicester; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Ralph E. Marsden, Jr., of Holden, and David Marsden of Newington, CT, and a sister, Priscilla LeClerc of Templeton; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy L. Willis, who died in 1990. Carol’s companion of many years, Paul Daige, died in 2003.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ralph E. and Olive (Glidden) Marsden, Sr. She was a graduate of North High School and Becker Jr. College and served as a matron with the Worcester Police Dept. for 25 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Greendale People’s Church and its Proto Club, Worcester Police Wives’ Association, and the United Commercial Travelers. Carol was an avid bowler and golfer, bowling with Colonial and Auburn Bowling Leagues.

Interment will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Greendale Peoples Church, 25 Francis Street. Calling Hours will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, May 31, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Road, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
