Donald "Don" Gene Bernard, age 76, of Anderson died on January 22, 2011 at St. John's Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born on October 16, 1934 in New Castle, IN, the son of Fred and Edna (Gorman) Bernard.
He was a chemical technician for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 37 years retiring in 1990. He served in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Rosalee (Nealis) Bernard, 3 children: Marty (Greg) Moheban of Indianapolis, Alix (Mary) Bernard of South Carolina, and Kirby (Sheree) Bernard of Daleville. 4 grandchildren: Amanda Bernard, Matthew, Joseph, and Jordan Moheban. 2 brothers in law: Roger and Richard Nealis. Several nieces and nephews
The family would like to thank the nursing staff on 6th floor south at St. Johns hospital and Dr. Vasquez for their kindness and compassion while caring for Donald during his illness.
Cremation was chosen by the family with a private family memorial service.
