Shane K. McKnight, age 37 of Anderson died at his mother's home on Sunday, January 30, 2011 after a lingering illness.
Shane was born February 10, 1973 to Rodger Byrne II and Susan (Crabtree) Byrne.
He worked at 96th Street Harley Davidson, Benson's Harley Davidson in Muncie then he was assistant Manager of Verizon Wireless for 6 years before his illness.
He was a member of the basketball and football teams and graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1990. He attended Indiana University.
Shane will never be forgotten by all his family and friends that are heart broken over this tragic loss.
He is survived by his wife, Allison (Follmar) McKnight of Pendleton whom he married July 3, 2010 in Anderson, IN, her 3 children, Emilee Sargent, Xia Walker and Austin Miller all of Pendleton, IN, his mother, Lucille McKnight of Anderson; grandmothers: Annette Dean of Anderson and Emma Lou Byrne of Anderson, brothers & sisters: Jade (Joy) Byrne of Anderson, Heather (Julius) Davis of Alexandria, Rev. Robert (Diane) Stroup of Merrillville, Becky Stroup of Middletown, his birth mother, Susan (Mike) Ousley of Alexandria and his father Rodger Byrne of Anderson, several nieces and nephews and several cousins and several aunts and uncles.
Shane was an avid motorcycle rider & member of CCR Motorcycle Club. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved to play his drums and guitar. He loved any horror movie. He was a loving husband and devoted step-father.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Don McKnight, grandfathers Arthur Crabtree, Dick Dean, Rev. Nicholas Bibbs and grandmother Bessie J. Bibbs.
Funeral service will be on Sunday, February 6 at 6:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Robert Stroup officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 2-6 P.M.
at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.
