Julia Jean Beason

ANDERSON, Ind. — Julia Jean (Swindell) Beason, 65, of Anderson, died Feb. 26, 2011, at Rawlins House in Pendleton after an extended illness.

Julia was born Oct. 13, 1945, in Anderson, to Herman Julius Swindell and Lois Jean (Flick) Davis. She graduated from Pendleton Heights High School.

She worked at Kroger where she held several positions including cashier. Julia was a member of Colonial United Methodist Church where she was president of Women’s Club and Activities.

She is survived by her son, Chris (Kathy) Matheney of Anderson; three stepchildren, Joe Beason of Plainfield, Mike Beason of Indianapolis and Linda (Beason) Geon of Anderson; brother, Wynn (Marletta) Swindell of Fort Wayne; two half sisters, Kim Cannon of Yorktown and Mary Ann Highers of Anderson; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Harold Beason, died in December of 2005.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Gina Kirkland of Colonial United Methodist Church. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be two hours before service Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Colonial United Methodist Church.
