Mary Monica Cima Miller
October 28, 1923-March 23, 2011

Mary Monica Cima Miller passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 23, 2011 at Community Hospital in Anderson.

On October 28, 1923 she was born in Novinger, MO to John & Julia (Garton) Cima.

On June 28, 1947 she was united in marriage with Walter W. Miller.
She was a graduate of Madrid (Iowa) High School, Anderson College, & Ball State University.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Miller; son, Russell of Anderson; daughter and husband, Denyse & H. Allen Thorpe of Indianapolis; granddaughter & husband, Jennifer M. & Adam Neise of Noblesville; grandson & wife, Joshua & Tiffany Miller of Noblesville; granddaughter, Julia Thorpe of Indianapolis. Great grandchildren include Gabe & Ella Neise&Caden& Kenzie Miller all of Noblesville. Siblings include: Norman (& Phyllis) Cima of Menlo Park, CA and Dru C. Bose of Indianapolis. She is also survived by her sister-in-law & husband, Lois (Vern) Forsberg of Boiling Springs, PA and 7 nieces and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister & brother-in-law, June & Carl Olson.

Mary was a creative and talented person who was a wonderful teacher, seamstress, and cook. She was a blessing to her family and friends.

Mary taught sixth grade at Jackson Twp. School for 20 years retiring in 1987. She was an active member of East Side Church of God where she taught Sunday School, served on various boards & committees, and was involved in the Lamplighters Sunday School Class.

She was also a member of AAUW (American Association of University Women) and enjoyed an Antique Study Group for many years. She was also a member of the Madison County Historical Society and the Madison County Retired Teachers.

Viewing will be on Saturday, March 26 from 11 am to 1 pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 26 with Rev. James Usher officiating. A private entombment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery.

Thanks to the staff of Edgewater Woods for their care during the year and a half illness with Alzheimer's and to her roommate Carla Schweitzer.

Because of Mary’s love for education and life long learning, in lieu of flowers, donations to The John and Julia Cima Endowed Scholarship in care of Anderson University, 1100 East Fifth Street, Anderson, IN 46012, would be a tribute to her memory as it would continue to support students pursuing higher education.
