Elva May (Cooper) Grace

Elva May (Cooper) Grace, 101, of Anderson, died April 30, 2011 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness.

She was a resident of Community Northview in Anderson.

She was born May 11, 1909 in Wells County, Indiana, the daughter of Albert F. and Martha E. (Duncan) Cooper.

She married Rev. Chester Grace November 2, 1929 and he preceded her in death in 1971.

She was a homemaker and minister's wife. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Anderson, and worked with many United Brethren, Evangelical United Brethren, and United Methodist churches in Indiana.

Survivors include her son, Carl M. (wife Loretta) Grace of Modesto, California, daughter-in-law Carol Grace of Anderson; 6 Grandchildren Perry L. (wife Brenda) Grace of Pink Hill, North Carolina, Misty J. (husband Tige) Chastain of Anderson, Amanda M. Grace of Anderson, Eric R. (wife Heather) James of Katy, Texas, Erin R. James (Gary Lapuyade) of Houston, Texas, and Randy Clayton of Maryville, TN; 10 Great-Grandchildren: Jaryd Grace, Jason Grace, Michayla Grace, Noah Green, Gavin Green, Madeline Triola, Sophia Triola, Reagan James, Aidan Lapuyade, Audrey Lapuyade; her brother-in-law John (wife Mary Helen) Rigby of Portland, IN

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Chester Grace, son, George Grace, and 3 brothers, Emile Cooper, Harry Cooper, and Lavern Beitler, and granddaughter, Shelley Clayton.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 Am on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, from 5-8 PM and also one hour before the funeral at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service. Graveside service will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis on Wednesday at 1:00 PM
