Thomas Edward Chesnut
April 12, 1928- May 7, 2011

Thomas Edward Chesnut, 83, of Anderson went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on April 12, 1928 in Chicago, IL to John and Jeannie (Pepiot) Chesnut.

He served in US Navy during World War II.
He was an Industrial Engineer with DOD Naval Weapons Support Center for 30 years and retired in 1976. He also worked for Borg Warner until retiring in 1986.

He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and a friend of Calvary Baptist Church. He had a dual membership with the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #84 and Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681. He loved fishing, golfing, and bowling. He earned the Silver Beaver award with the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Ruth A. Chesnut of Anderson whom he married on June 22, 1974. Children, David T. (Tracy) Chesnut of Bluffton, IN, John Chesnut of Bloomfield, IN, Brian (Darla) Chesnut of Bloomfield, IN, Marilyn (Steve) Roberts of Tampa, FL, Carolyn (DJ) Spencer of Bloomington, IN, and Teresa (Mark) Bohn of Bloomfield, IN; Step-children, Christina (Brian) Benedict of Clyde, OH, David (Michelle) Bobo of Noblesville, IN and Kevin (Sherry) Bobo of Anderson, IN; Grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Chesnut, Anthony Vest, Keygan Spencer, Stephanie Tarr, Kimberly Roberts, Deanna (Jeremy) Potts, and D'Lee Chesnut; Step-grandchildren, Sharon Willhoit, Dustin Bobo, and BreAnne Bobo; Great-Grandchildren, Quinn Vest, Lucy Vest, Bailee Chesnut, Micah Chesnut, Gavin Tarr, and Rylynn Potts; Step- great-grandchildren, Jaiden Willhoit, Trinity Willhoit, and Saphera Willhoit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Amber Brooke Chesnut.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00AM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Services with Pastors Ryan Rasmussen and James Proctor officiating. The burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery with military rites being conducted by VFW Honor Guard Post 266.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. A Masonic lodge service will be conducted at 7:30pm by Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
