Nancy (Slaymaker) Hyde
October 12, 1933- May 22, 2011

Nancy (Slaymaker) Hyde, age 77, of Anderson, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Community Hospital in Anderson, following a brief illness.

She was born on October 12, 1933 in Dallas, TX the daughter of Robert R. and Frances E. (Dawson) Slaymaker. She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1951, and from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1956 with a degree in Home Economics. She moved to Anderson in 1957 and spent several years as a homemaker and mother, raising her family. Later in 1981, she graduated from Anderson University School of Nursing. She worked for several local Home Health Care Agencies as a registered Nurse.

She was a 50 year member of First Presbyterian Church in Anderson. She was active in the church assisting with various activities throughout the years. She participated in the Women's Circle, Sunday School, Bible School and the Youth Program. She enjoyed sewing, reading and doing small crafts.

She married her high school sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Hyde on June 12, 1953. He survives her along with 2 children, William S. Hyde and wife Gloria of Houston, TX and Holly Sue Conover of Middletown; 6 Grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, James, Jonathon, Christi, and Misti; 8 Great Grandchildren, Matthew, Madisyn, Emalie, Jacob, Lance, Hunter, Javon, Jaden; 2 Step-Great grandchildren, Christine and Ivy. Also a sister, Sally Sue (Richard) Clark of Oak Ridge, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Robin Muterspaugh, a brother, Robert Slaymaker, a brother-in-law, David Hyde, a niece Pamela Hyde, and a grandson, Jay R. Perry.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 4:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, officiated by Rev. Ryan Rasmussen.

Cremation has taken place and burial of ashes will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church for the Education, Missions or Youth Funds.
