Denzil B. Hopper

Denzil B. Hopper, age 94 of Anderson, died July 16, 2011 at Countryside Manor after an extended illness.
Denzil was born April 9, 1917 in Merom, Indiana to Lloyd and Flora (Hayes) Hopper.
He worked production for Delco Remy 42 years before retiring March 31, 1982.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was an active member of several church related groups. He was a member of Park Place Church of God. He was a charter member of East Side Church of God attending there for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years Willetta G. (Funk) Hopper of Anderson whom he married April 16, 1939 in Anderson, his sons: Stan (Mary Catherine) Hopper of Anderson and Ron (Maja) Hopper of Kalamazoo, MI; sister Jean Remington of Chesterfield, 2 grandchildren: Minka Williams of Indianapolis, Captain Benjamin Hopper serving in the Army Rangers at Ft. Benning, GA and a step son, Brian Hastings; 2 great grandsons Paul and Peyton Williams and 2 step great grandchildren: Morgan and Maeve Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings: Delbert, Jim, Perry Hopper, Muriel Doty and Selma Bessett.
Services will be held on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Dwight Dye and Rev. Phil Bruzzese officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the service.
