Sandra Lou "Sandy" Myers
July 5, 1936- October 10, 2011
Sandra Lou "Sandy" Myers, 75, of Anderson, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.
She had been an Anderson resident since 1960. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1954. She had been an assistant librarian with the Anderson Community Schools for 24 years, retiring in 2002. Most of her time was spent at East Side Middle School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Anderson. She had been a foster parent to over 67 children through the years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her 2 dogs. She also enjoyed chair caning and rug hooking.
She is survived by 4 children, Skip ( Debbie) Myers and Scott Myers of Anderson, Holly (Jeff) Leyda of Apex, NC and Hope Guminski of Algonquin, IL; 7 grandchildren, Cory, Kellie, and Jeff Myers, Nick Guminski, Cooper, Kyllie, and Macy Leyda; 1 brother, Dick (Mary Jane) Day of Effingham, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nile "Ed" Myers on March 19, 2009, and a daughter in law, Jenene Myers.
Service will be on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Donna Goings of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-7 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
