Farewell to The Big Dog
Charles Arthur Silva, age 51, died on September 2, 2012. Chuck was born on October 14, 1960 in Ft. Huachuca, Cochise County, AZ, which explains his Apache flair. He graduated from Lake Braddock High School in 1978 and from Benedictine College in 1982. He made his home in Kansas City, MO and returned annually to his ancestral home in Provincetown, MA, where he had spent the summers of his youth, living with his grandparents, Theodore Roosevelt Silva and Rosemary Scott Silva. He made his career in the marine industry, and although he held a territory with no water, he was the top Salesman in his company year after year.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Martha “Mardi” (Muraski) Silva and their five children Edward, Gregory, Jakob, Joseph and Monica and three granddaughters, all of Kansas City, Missouri, his three brothers Ted, Chris and Rick Silva and his father, Theodore Silva, as well as a multitude of dear friends and extended family across the country. He spent the last year of his life living his dream, working as a lobsterman with his brother Rick out of Provincetown, MA.
A Memorial service is being planned for this Thursday evening, September 6, 2012 at 7:30pm at the Surf Club, located in Lopes Square off Commercial St. in downtown Provincetown. All of his relatives and friends are invited.
